The Advanced Manufacturing DFX (Design for eXcellence) Tool is a comprehensive solution for visualizing, analyzing, and normalizing circuit board design data. It helps bridge the gap between different CAD data formats and ensures data consistency for manufacturing.

File Import

You can import your board design data using the controls in the sidebar. The application supports:

Gerber files (.zip): Upload a zip archive containing your Gerber layer files. The application will extract and prepare them for viewing.
IPC-D-356 (.net): Import netlist data to overlay on the board.
GenCAD (.cad): Load component placement information.

AI-Powered Normalization Tool

One of the key features is the AI-powered Normalization Tool. Often, data from different sources (Gerber, IPC, GenCAD) may use different units (e.g., inches vs. millimeters) or have different origin points.

The normalization tool analyzes these files and intelligently aligns them into a single, consistent coordinate system, making accurate visualization possible. You can input your raw data, and the AI will provide a summary of the changes and the normalized output.

Layer Visibility

Control the visibility of different board layers from the sidebar. You can toggle:

Copper: The conductive tracks of your PCB.
Mask: The solder mask layer.
Silk: The silkscreen layer with component labels.
Components: The physical component footprints.
Netlist: The logical connections between components.

Find Tool

Quickly locate specific items on your board. Use the "Find" tool in the sidebar to search for:

Net: Highlight all points belonging to a specific net (e.g., 'GND', 'VCC').
Refdes: Highlight a specific component by its reference designator (e.g., 'U1', 'R10').
